About Furbabies

Furbabies Training School offers premiere puppy training classes (puppy school) for puppies 8 weeks and up. We offer obedience training classes for dogs of all ages and breeds. Further obedience and fun training classes, agility and play group are offered for Furbabies graduates.

We use effective, easy to learn and scientifically proven training methods. Our training philosophy is to work with dogs and their owners in a way that is respectful to both while still producing excellent results. Furbabies offers dog and owner-friendly dog training, with the emphasis on keeping things simple, straightforward and fun. We help people to communicate clearly what sort of behaviour they would like from their dogs, without resorting to scaring their dogs or undermining the dog-owner relationship.

Classes are taught in Balgowan, on the Midlands Meander, in the Natal Midlands, Kwa-Zulu Natal.

Classes are taught by Candi Moon, who is a highly qualified puppy and dog trainer and is Super Pup certified.

Furbabies was established in 2008 and we are specifically geared to assist owners to train a companion dog who fits in well in all aspects of their lives. A dog who barks all day in a town house complex, or becomes uncontrollable on walks, presents a serious problem for owners and it is just these kind of issues that Furbabies was established to assist with and to help prevent.

What classes and types of training does Furbabies offer?

puppy socialisation and training classes (puppy school), for puppies from 8 weeks of age
obedience classes for training older dogs in some basic manners and obedience, for all dogs 5 months and up
fun, more advanced training classes for Furbabies puppy class and obedience graduates with Pro Pups 1, 2 and 3
play group for Furbabies graduates who enjoy play with other dogs
agility for active dogs and handlers
classes are taught using positive reinforcement, lure and reward, clicker, TTouch and other gentle training methods designed to make the training experience easy and enjoyable for both you and your dog.

Where is Furbabies Training School and when are classes?

Furbabies is based at Millgate Cottage in Balgowan on the Midlands Meander, Natal Midlands and is convenient for Mooi River, Balgowan, Howick, Nottingham Road, Lidgetton, Glenmore, Rosetta, Lion's River and surrounds.

Puppy classes, obedience classes and Pro Pups 1 classes are held on Saturdays.

Pro Pups 2 and 3 classes are held on Thursday evenings.

Agility classes are Tuesday evenings and play group is on Friday evenings.

Class sizes are limited to ensure a balance between individual attention and socialisation and ensure an optimum training experience for you and your dog. All ages and breeds of dog are welcome.
